Canvollage is a contemporary artistic technique that expands painting through painted canvas fragments and hand stitching. Each fragment preserves traces of its pictorial history…color, texture, marks and gestures…while becoming part of a new composition. Through stitching, the act of joining becomes an expressive element of the work itself, opening new possibilities within the painted canvas.
Canvollage was not born in a single moment. Its origins lie in memories, experiences, and ways of seeing that, over the years, began to come together: the memory of fabric fragments, painting, fragmentation, and stitching. What began as different ideas and intuitions eventually found a form, a language, and, many years later, a name.

In Canvollage, one surface can become the beginning of another possibility. The painting is fragmented, the pieces find new relationships, and stitching becomes part of that transformation. What seemed finished can be rearranged, continue its journey, and take on new meaning.
